I'm somewhat divided when it comes to the review. On one hand, it's certainly well-written. On the other hand, it comes with ridiculous and erroneous; "Come Clarity" is not epic, in any way, it's just In Flames fishing for mainstream acceptance (which, by the way, has succeded at least in Sweden). And Miskovsky's participation on "Dead End" surely isn't experimenting, it's not innovative in any way. The track follows the exact same formula as the rest of the album, except with female singing in two instances. Yet again In Flames fishing for money.

The album, on the other hand, is crap in one of its purest forms. Especially Fridén's performance is extremely sub-par. Subtract his lyrics, and Come Clarity would increase to 2.5. Subtract him altogether an it might even reach a 3.

I would have liked more clean vocals opposed to his whiney screaming. The singing parts, when there were some, were such powerful parts of the songs. Still managed to be a good album.

WHAT? SOP is "okay" but this is definitely their best album from their softer/more "mainstream" period. The only truly bad song is "Scream".

The title track would be better if Ander's singing was better, but it's still pretty good. The chorus and guitar solo are pretty "epic" IMO.This Message Edited On 11.27.08

this album is pretty good, but...i HATE Reflect the Storm because of the "whiney" chorus. i just hate that clean vocal. (not Br00tal enuff! lol) until that, the song is really good. Leeches also has a bit. the rest of the album is pretty good, tho. especially Pacing Death's Trail...

probably going to review this as my first review, or maybe Clayman(my fav In Flames album, as well as one of my fav of all time) or Reroute...

and...*blasphemy* i think STYE is one of their best albums of the new era...

have yet to purchase A Sense of Purpose, but i heard The Mirror's Truth, and it was orgasmic.
