really i'm just disappointed with hip hop this year at the exception of Nehru Jackets and maybe Death Grips if that even counts

I must be insane not liking this, rap is not my cup of tea anyway but this didn't help.

All I know is this isn't even close to touching Section 80, Camp, Oneirology, XXX or even MBDTF. I'm kind of baffled that this even got that much attention.

Gonna have to 2nd not knowing what "camp" is. Oneirology was way overrated, XXX was too long, and MBDTF was excellent but inconsistent (same w/ Section 80, shows lots of potential thought). This is the complete package. Dont understand your comment about Killer Mike liking literature being laughable.

It's nice to have some deep and thoughtful rap come from Atlanta.

youre not gonna change anyones opinion on death grips by saying the same thing over and over.. but yeah

Fantastic Damage is so much better than C4C

except, C4C does come across as more intricate in a lot of spots tbh. But that is not necessarily a benefitting factor here. You also say that C4C is more aggressive but i think the beats hit harder on Fantastic Damage tbh

I thought C4C was not as good at first, but now I'm not so sure. Every time I listen, I find something new I like. That said, Killer Mike will probably be my #1 record this year, we'll see. I love El's take on southern hip-hop... southern, but also decidedly El-P
