Well obviously Spawn isn't for everybody's taste nor should it be, but these just aren't mere songs they're real musical compositions, disharmonic symphonies if you like, and each time it's like a quintet playing the score of an entire orchestra at once.

I fully agree with Wizard's last few comments on this thread. Band is comprised of excellent musicians who tend to over-complicate things in their music with detrimental results.

at the time cryptopsy were considered brutal, and while i don't really like them obviously their music is considered classic. but you see, in 1996, there were four brutal death metal bands of importance: suffocation, cannibal corpse, cryptopsy (of course debatable), and deeds of flesh. that was it. the face of brutal death metal was changed forever by the release of these bands' material in those years 1993-1996.



deeds of flesh's debut and none so vile were both released after vile. the only brutal death bands doing anything that anyone was paying attention to until 1996 were CC and Suffo. it's easy to rip on CC because they are popular now and have a certain reputation, but in 1996 they were legends and vile is a legendary album as are the few that came before it
