Im glad a band such as mastodon can stay so consistent especially when its like their 5th or 6th album and they could have so capitalized on the commercial success of crack the skye and made an even MORE dare I say "poppy" type ablum. I was a big fan of that album but I was scared that they'd fall into that "radio rock" sound that slipknot and others have fallen into. We must rejoice!

I can't say it's better than CTS for me but I am enjoying this quite a bit. The weakest track for me is Thickening. It has some nice melodies but it bores me.
