this might be growing on me....still so damn 80's though, and not bombastically like m83's latest. too kenny g and soft jazz.

but this came way before M83. Think of the way the smooth jazz elements tend to blur into acid jazz freakouts (like the end of Suicide Demo). That might help you.

yeah thebhoy....looking at it that way might help. i like the instrumentals for the most part...but bejar's voice/delivery rubs me the wrong way sometimes. like the "red rover on the way over to your house" line. ugh. sounds so cheeseball.

Amen to that.
'Bay of Pigs' alone is glorious, the rest of the album is a bonus. =P
I love 'Blue Eyes' and 'Poor in Love' as well.

Yeah, Bay of Pigs is incredible. If I'm in a shitty mood, I listen to that intro and I immediately feel so much better. Bejar should experiment more with ambiance in his next release, he's so good with the small amount he flirts with on here

Yeah! I love those sounds he comes up with. I'd like more of that too.

Nah, nah!
My favourite line: "You were on the side of good, I was inside of the sea's guts." =)
But yet, the opening to Kara Walker is really good. Did you hear any of the bonus material?

No, I haven't heard any of the bonus material Steo. Sounds like I'll have to, though! This album is so good that I need another fix

And Baseline you're right, it's just a 4.5

The bonus tracks, well one of them is 19 minutes long of this beautiful sound scape. It's awesome.
