my favoruite sufjan song is probably actually 'pickeral lake' which is an extra off that. i love everythong on that album (and most things sufjan). listen to 'detroit' and 'they also mourn' all the time. never really got why that was so overshadowed by illinois but that album is fantastic too.

Excellent choices. Illinois has always been what people bring up when discussing Sufjan with me. More people should be listening to Michigan. I think For the Widows in Paradise is my favorite.
