That is insane... I am actually shocked to see that they have 2M monthly listeners which feels VERY high for them. For context, Coheed and Cambria is at 1.7M

I feel like somehow they are paying for extra streams, there is no way that they are that popular.

In fact, no, I am not buying that they are bigger than coheed. I saw TWA a few years back where they failed to sell out a 700 capacity venue. Meanwhile I have tickets to see coheed this summer and they are headlining with TBS a 30K capacity venue. There is no way that TWA has more listeners...

Knowing how Telle is he definitely is. Nobody really talks about them post-Dark Matter, hell lots of people don't care about anything after Life Cycles.

coheed has a cult, rabid fanbase. and the word alive is prob in ton of those butt rock/metal playlists that way more people listen to. bigger on streaming than in person. that's my guess anyway.

they did a music collab for league of legends so that is going to draw a bunch of no lifers who only listen to anime music or music produced by riot games

EDIT: and yes of course i was right, their league of legends song has 362M streams on spotify. 4 of their top 5 songs on spotify are collabs with other bands too so yeah they are leeching pretty bad.

yeah i was gonna say, monthly listeners =/= fans paying for tickets. that league of legends song is pumping their monthly listeners with passive streams that would never buy a ticket to a TWA show.

for context, smokepurpp has almost 1 million monthly listeners and he couldn't sell over 50 tickets a show and had to cancel his tour lol

This one actually ain’t too hard to figure out, their top song on Spotify has 362m streams while the next biggest song is only 37m. So that one song alone is probably accounting for half (or more) of their monthly listeners. Furthermore, that song is a three-way collab from 2018 that was made for League of Legends.

So…yeah those monthly listeners are legit yet absolutely meaningless lmfao

Everything about 2012 is such a relic of its time.

Remember buying this at Hot Topic

Man a few of these songs are still pretty damn cool, hounds of Anubis and epiphany still sound fresh to me. The rest of it… yes very late 2000’s or early 2010’s era dated lol

This guitar work was always such a standout for me

Battle Royale is the best song on this, but the ep version is better

hounds of anubis clears the rest of the album, a lot of little moments like the last minute of "like father like son" that are still great tho
