I know how you feel^^ Theres no metal station here either and it pisses me off. Nickelback, coldplay and U2 are all overplayed and overated.

Just give them fifteen years! If they haven't made a big improvement on their songwriting ability by The Crusade I will have lost all hope.

Nice review. Ascendancy is an okay cd. Ember to Inferno is was better, though.

and matt isnt a show-off...

if u say that his instructional clips r show off-ish, u can say almost every guitarist is show off-ish...they all (well most) hav instructional thingos that r way better than his...

Go to one of their shows and watch Matt and Corey's solo duel session and say they arent show-offs. But yes, a lot of guitarists are, so picking on Trivium is a tad unfair.

The reason I'm calling him a show-off is because his instructional videos are not about teaching younger guitarists. They're all about him. The man is a self-obsessed prick, plain and simple.

To Tarantino's - you must admit that duel guitar thing was probably the coolest piece of guitar wankery the Guildhall had ever seen though :pThis Message Edited On 06.19.06

So if you had Matt Heafy's skills, you would shamelessly use them to whore for more attention instead of just letting your personality do the work for you?

Showing off for fun is one thing. Matt Heafy is another. When I saw Rush in concert, Alex Lifeson broke off into a little jam in La Villa Strangiato, showing off his soloing skills. It was cool.

Matt Heafy wanks the hell out of his guitar in order to get more attention to satisfy his bloated ego. He's not doing it for the fun of it, he's doing it to whore for attention.

I believe Matt was the one who said "We're gonna be the next Metallica" I may be wrong...
