It seems that this reviewer is more disgruntled with what post-hardcore has become and has found memories of what he considers the "glory days." I get the feeling that if Emery's style of post-hardcore was called pop-punk-withheavyposthardcoreinfluence-core or any other random name, the reviewer wouldn't take quite as hostile of a stance to this album. I don't think the rating would change because there are some legitimate gripes that you have with this album, but I feel that the hostility I feel from the review would vanish.
