The title track is one of my favorite songs ever and the album itself is my second favorite of all time. The vocals are just so fucking good.

God dammit Sif. :[

And what's wrong with the riffs? This is doom metal. They're not supposed to blow anyone away.

Eh that never bothered me. The riffs are exactly what they're supposed to be. I mean, the focus isn't on the guitars anyways.

yeah i agree with you there, i can't think of more suitable riffs really. but as a very annoying and demanding fan i would've loved to see some interludes with change in pace/structure

@hawks

ok after your encouragement I gave this a proper listen last night which is my most relaxed time. Now I fully understand where your coming from. The guitars here utilized a varied/alternating chord progression. Clearly, each chord is choosen with a purpose. It is a relief to see the contrast from all the other wankers out there. The feeling of the album is tremendous, while not without flaw, it holds a strong foundation

My problem was I checked this out on youtube casually which was a big mistake for this album, because all I would hear is basic chords and excellent vocals. BIG MISTAKE!!! The sequence of each track is almost perfectly excecuted, you HAVE to sit down relax and focus in order to be able to see the complexity of the arragements. Anyone who says its basic is sadly mistaken. I've been playing guitar for over 10 years now and MUST say the guitar work here is superb and would take a lot of rehearsing to actually play all the shifts and transitions.

Once again, truly a masterpeice. With time and repeated listen, this may grow IN me, causing a possible rate increase. Thanks again for the encouragment hawks

Haunting music. Heart wrenching. Doom metal with clean vocals CAN'T possibly get any more emotional than this.

^ I don't care about Metallica, but Master of Puppets is the worst pop punk album ever.

footprints=one of the best songs ive ever heard

"Here I am wide open, surrendering to your side;

I have laid down my armour,

I have no sword at my side.

I leave behind me the ruins of the fortress I swore to defend;

I leave behind me foundations;

I'll leave you a man I'll need you to mend.

And through all the battles around me

I never believed I would fight.

Yet here I stand, a broken soldier,

Shivering, naked, in your winter light." =best part ever
