I don't think his lyrics are retarded at all, in fact a lot of the time they're pretty damn interesting. But there are cringe-worthy moments on most metal albums at some point or another.



also, I heard there were going to be 3 alternate covers for the album, so that's possibly one of them.

I listened to the whole album once, I do like where they are going on this one. I agree the use of Delgado being emphasized more than ever brings a new flavor to their sound. There are a lot of great melodies and hooks intertwined with heavy guitars. In a way, I think this could become my favorite Deftones record, but we will see. However, I am waiting to actually listen to it full again when I buy it the day it comes out.

Fool, all of their albums have something different about them. Thats another thing great about the 'Tones, they never repeat albums.

On the topic of lyrics, I do think Wrist had a more lovey-dovey vibe to it.

Adrenaline is the only album can be said to sound too much the same. After that, Deftones became one of the most diverse bands around.

Wasn't overly impressed with this at first but it's really addicting. I'm having a hard time finding any particular weak spots. But I think I'll stick with 'You've Seen the Butcher', 'Beauty School' and 'Sex Tape' as my favorites.
