for sure bro. Too bad both of the bands fizzled a bit (or in the pumpkins case, a lot) hey...

The fact that I signed up for an account just to post in this thread should tell you how much I love
this album. As Mike said, this isn't the kind of album a person outgrows. It is always relevant and
resonates emotionally with me.
I'll never forget back in 1999 when my now-husband and I were first living together, and I asked him
what he thought of 3eb. He was like, meh, okay radio band, sure. I told him he just hadn't really
"heard" them yet. I'll never forget his face as the album went on--especially during the last four
tracks. He still listens to them on a regular basis, as do I, and MCDB ranks as one of his favorite
songs ever.
First time poster's order of love:
God of Wine*
Motorcycle Drive-By*
The Background
I Want You
Narcolepsy
Graduate
Semi-Charmed Life
Burning Man
How's It Going to Be
Jumper
Thanks a Lot
Losing a Whole Year
Good for You
London
* It used to be MCDB hands down for the last 12 years, and just the other night we listened to both
at awe-inspiring volume and the epic fullness of music in GoW finally pushed it just slightly past
MCDB.

Hi JWT! Thanks! =)
Are you really the only other one besides me? *G* Truth told, it's always been close for me between
God of Wine and Motorcycle Drive-By, but MCDB always won out because of the build in music and
emotion. After playing them at top volume side-by-side a few times, I feel the overall emotion
expressed in GoW through the music and lyrics wins out.

MCDB is my favorite, but I think GOW may have the most powerful line:
There's someone who understands you more than I do.
A sadness I can't erase, all the love on your face.

I just love God of Wine when the guitar riff kicks in, a song that must be played with the stereo all the way up.

THe best line in God of Wine is:
He takes a drink and then she waits, the alcohol it permeates, and soon the cells give way, and cancels out the day

Yes. This. I'm not sure there's ever been a line in a song that hits me so hard right in the gut. So
damned powerful. And the delivery just kills me.
I've been listening to the whole album on repeat for hours tonight.

It's my favorite album of all time, for my gf for her birthday (which also happened to be right before I left for College) I gave her this (with a candle and flowers too, romantic JWT ;) . Made her a few mix cd's before and she really has a good taste in music but I told her that this album is my favorite, has gotten me through some hard times and it meant a lot to me to give it to her.
