so while everyone's busy blowing little skittles over at the symbolic thread, has anyone ever seen this? it's (a part of) chuck's personal cd collection; it's pretty cool

"Flattening of Emotions" is an awesome opener. Pummeling riffs of lyfe.

First there was Tony Iommi, Father of All That is Riff

Then there was KK Downing, Father of the Standard Metal Riff

Then there were Hetfield, Mustaine, King/Hanneman and Ian, who delivered some serious riffage

And then came Chuck Schuldiner, the Riff Perfector

This album is riff heaven. All that riffage is a ton to take in.

Gotta love Masvidal's solo on See Through Dreams.

Guitar work on Vacant Planets is epic, def a great way to close an album.

So much m/ on this album.

Chuck was such a god, shame he died so young.

Cosmic Sea is a badass instrumental.

Without Brian Tatler there's no Hetfield, Mustaine, King/Hanneman and Ian though. If Iommi is the father, Tatler is the prodigal son.

Yeah, DH played a crucial role, so Tatler deserves a mention.

Also worthy of mention is the Shermann/Denner duo, which probably had a major impact on Chuck.

Guitar work on the whole record is godly but ya, that song in particular.
