Had this album at a 4 but then I remembered that those last 3 songs exist and had to bump it up

Mmm this album is a classic. Favorite ska album ever, even over Op Ivy and Streetlight

i'd call the first 3 btmi albums ska in the same vein as this. and i prefer all 3 of em to this

idk man this just has an unignorable chunk of songs that just dont really do much for me other than detracting from the flow. which sucks because the first four/five songs are fucking incredible

idk. its a tough album to rate, but i just dont love it, and i do those albums so... yeah

this album had to grow on me pretty much song by song. took fucking ages but eventually i came to love everything on here.

there's a significant lack of horns and upstrokes and a whole fuck-ton of other shit going on on those first three bomb records. yes there are quite a few songs on each of those records with clear ska elements but they're completely outnumbered, and ska isn't very dominant on the songs that use it either.

i guess they're in a category of their own, but regardless: i think all three of them easily surpass this in terms of quality

and yeah this took a while to grow on me too, but even then it never grew quite as much as i expected/would have really liked. still a great record dont get me wrong, just one with what i would consider some pretty damaging flaws

the fat needs to be trimmed for me to fall in love with it

It's so weird to me that you don't love this, Demi. Vacation is really the only BTMI release that I think is better than this. Although, I do listen to BTMI much more than this. I guess it's mainly cuz I don't have this downloaded.

Yeah as good as BTMI is, this surpasses most of their work, aside from Vacation and Scrambles. Maybe it's because I listened to this for years before even discovering BTMI, but I don't see how you can not like this as much as most bomb
