My copy came some days ago. LOVE the bonus tracks and the artwork of the booklet is beautiful. Nice to know that it's a band that still care about their fanbase.

And lol at people screaming murder at me about stating my opinions. If you actually start counting, there'll be more enraged fanboys of a certain band complaining than I talking anything.

Eh, to each his/her own. Go jerk off listening to your precious record.

"Daisy isn't and never will be better than Beggars. And I'm speaking this from a musician standpoint."

"And lol at people screaming murder at me about stating my opinions."

I'll let you figure it out. Hopefully I made it clear enough...

Sorry guys since I like Daisy more than Beggars I'm clearly a fanboy ;)

Greer's gayer for Thrice than anyone and gave this a 3.5, which does say quite a bit

I love the whole atmosphere surrounding this record. It's like they're playing right in front of me. That's my favorite Thrice's record.

Vheissu is only Thrice preparing themselves to become the band that would produce Beggars. While some bands outgrow or go completely insane and abandoning what made they good to begin with, Thrice is busy refining their sound to produce what I think it's their best yet, Thrice is a band at the top of their craft on this one.

Does anybody else notice some Jeff Buckley influence in Dustin's voice?

Doublespeak is amazing.

I think Vheissu is better. This is definitely a fantastic record though.

And please, please, please stop comparing this to Daisy when they aren't remotely similar except that people who like Thrice tend to like Brand New (and vice versa). Arguing about which is better is kind of pointless.

I still don't think the Doublespeak hate is warranted at all. Such a lovely song.

I was skeptical, but now I think it's merely one of the few slightly lacking songs off an album with a lot of good songs on it. B-sides are killer btw

@EverythingEvil

YES I registered just to say that

Though I appreciate the album and the forward momentum of this band, I cant help but be distracted by all their influences. Usually theyre pretty good about making it (their influences/inspirations)their own, but this album seems to be full of lines that have to be tributes to bands such as Radiohead and maybe even Jeff Buckley's singing.

It just seems like Thrice has had their headphones on for too long?

@someguest

yup... DEP remixes of Thrice songs are notoriously bad. Ruined two discs now for me.

Come all ye Weary EP RUINED because of the last song, wtf was that?

Beggars Bonus Tracks - Shaky start because of ATWIM remix. the other 4 tracks dug it out.

I say.. no more remixes. I wouldve been so happy with just 3 bonus tracks

You don't have to listen the bonus tracks. And I see the influences, but differently than with some

bands, I think it works for them, and not against them, like some other releases.

Fuckin neat avatar btw.

haha thanks, I'm dyin to hear the new Finch stuff

I agree that the influences arent bad. Its just that This time around they seem more evident.

For example, one of the biggest influences I heard in Vheissu was Isis, it was great and they blended it really well IMO.

This time though, I really felt like i was hearing radiohead during Teppei's solos, in particular the sound from Radiohead's earlier albums

Hmm. Do you know Frodus, XIII? I'd say that this record is heavily inspired by Frodus, more than anything else. Check out And We Washed Our Weapons In The Sea to understand what I mean.

I fuckin' LOVE this record. Album of the year right now. I don't know when the new Finch's album is coming tho.

well I only know Frodus because of AI IV, but I will def. give it a listen.

Not too sure when Finch is releasing either. Ive been hearing winter ish. but That might be me just getting mixed up with FIF (Five iron frenzy) dvd hehe.

O btw, do you know who Thrice covered for "The Great Exchange"?

edit: That is what it says on the back of the album right? it says, The Great Exchange... then cover. yes?

edit2: Update. It only says cover in Windows Media Player. Anyone else notice that?

This guy's voice is infectious, and the melodies are so good. Awesome release.
