You're right, it doesn't ever end. There's always going to be a group of people crying because Dream Theater don't sound like they did when Kevin Moore was in the band. These are the same people that would probably be crying just as loud if the band had been releasing rehashes of Images & Words and/or Awake for the past twenty years. There are a ton of bands ripping off Dream Theater's earlier sound, stop whining and do a simple Google search.

Actually, I'm not referring to either I&W or Awake, but to ToT and TCoS...to some degree Octavarium. I&W and Awake are too gay in my book. Men screeming like women getting raped whilst waving their long hair dressed in leather pants is a day of the past.

It's only the past if you insist that it should be. There are plenty of bands that still sing and don't follow the latest trend. Believe me, this screaming thing that a lot of the bands do these days, it's going to be the thing that 'dates' the bands of the first few decades of the new millennium. There's already a trend towards going back to actual singing again.
As far as image goes, it shouldn't matter if you enjoy the music and aren't looking for your latest role model.

^DT, as with James LaBrie have only made one, their previous which is borderline laughable at times. I guess the general consensus is that FitI is mediocre but I still like it. And their debut with their first singer is rather mediocre too, so yeah, maybe three then...

even as a fanboy for DT i can safely say theyve grown off me a lot. Images/Words is still a 5, but everything else ranges from a 2 to a 4.5. Most of the stuff they had this decade is meh, like Six Degrees, Oct, and Systematic Chaos. This and Train of Though are great albums though

I think I may be the only person on all of Sputnik who actually likes LaBrie's voice.

absolutely not in my opinion.
its like a gayer and more annoying version of Scenes, which was excellent. Songs such as "The Great Debate" and "The Glass Prison" are awesome but most of it is just super meh prog rock. It ranges from bad-awesome, but mostly just ok for me

its not really his voice, its how he fits in with DT and when he hits the highs

While Scenes is a fantastic record I still think it's a little overrated. They've done better ones.
Oh and you said, they've grown off you a lot. Is sputnik having an 'influence' (the 'elite', indie etc.) on you? If so, good luck ;)

6DOIT is my favorite DT album. The first disc is very powerful (Disappear is also criminally underrated), and the second disc is extremely enjoyable, Losing Time has to be one of my favorite album closers ever.

6DOIT is my 2nd favorite DT album after Scenes from a Memory. Blind Faith and Disappear are among my favorite DT songs ever, and the 2nd disc is just amazing.

Nah, I like his voice. He's hit and miss in some of their albums, but he can sound pretty darn good sometimes. Like in this album.
