the best Beatles album in my opinion, ok maybe the White Album but this and revolver make the top 5, , 65 is a great year, before they tried to follow the San Fran thing. Just fantastically well crafted 3 minute pop songs

Definitely their best. Consistent from front to back and the production is crisp and organic which made the album sounded so light yet so warm. Also, In My Life is #1 The Beatles song.

i just love how 60's artists were able to create perfect pop songs with durations under 3 minutes.

Revolver is better, but saying it's the better "version" makes no sense since this album's pretty different
This is more folky, and Revolver is more psych/baroque poppy

Baroque pop, not baroque classical ALA
Think Eleanor Rigby for an obvious example

Originally, baroque was the style of orchestral music popular in the 1700s, although Johann Sebastian Bach is the most popular Baroque era composer, he was actually considered anachronistic by the time he started making music (since he was at the end of the era and the Classical style was already beginning)
In the 1960s, many artists such as The Beatles, Beach Boys, and The Zombies used these ideas (such as the harpsichord and violins) and mixed them with elements of pop and rock. Many artists still use these ideas today. It's sometimes called chamber pop.
The term "Baroque" is also associated with a 1700s style of painting that used dark oil paints.

in short: pop music similar (related to and/or influenced by) pop rock, psych pop, and sunshine pop that's particularly characterized by the use of orchestral instruments heavily influenced the by the bright, bouncy, and balanced nature of baroque classical music.
