Just started The Dear Hunter discog run last week and haven't gotten past this one cuz it's just too good. Does it get better than this? Should I do all of the acts first or just listen chronologically?

I really admire the musical variety they display while still feeling largely cohesive. Are the others more sonically adventurous?

Act III isn't really, but it is quite punchy
Act IV and V are more similar to this and develop the sounds here further, I guess. They move away from the emo indie post hardcore thing and more towards indie alt rock bossa nova musical stuff, if that makes sense

I can picture that progression just based on the jump from act I to II. Album is really teetering on a 4.25, so I'm not sure where I'll land. Just really been digging this lately and I'm assuming a lyrical deep dive will secure the 4.5 for good.
