yeah true, but we have 2.5 albums of that. i don't know what the sputconsensus is but never better is far and away my favorite of his cause he really made an attempt to push the envelope. if he can pull it off again we could have a really good record on our hands
or it could suck i really have no idea. but i dig that he's continually trying to progress

Audition will likely always be my favorite (at least partially for nostalgic purposes), but I agree that Never Better is incredible. There's a few songs that don't really vibe too much with me (Category) or break up the flow of the album (Goodbye, Low Light Low Life), but overall it's fucking great.
here's to hoping the new one will rule as well, and definite props to him for continued progression for sure.
