i love taylor swift.

She stole the chorus to "You belong with me" from Saving Jane's "Girl next door". I mean she might do alot of her own writing but its disrespectful to bite on others music. Still a fan from a distance but this kinda made me lose some respect for her.

Comments rescinded, Speak Now is a little better but DAMN does this kill
Edit: This is officially the best record she'll ever make.

Its hard to listen to an album with no true depth or meaning. Anything else, like this album, is a distraction from what is really important. Growing up is a key ingredient to life-that is obvious. But taylor swift describes growing up from a privileged white girl's perspective. No wonder she's so popular-an artist that writes about pointless things to an audience that obviously agrees with her. Falling in love is all good and fun, but where is the depth to Taylor Swift besides "Romeo"? Who is Taylor swift? Thats what I'd like to know. This music is a distraction for people with lower faculties that is fun. Otherwise it is nothing else.

Um, I'm pretty sure she had a relatively normal middle class upbringing. One could argue that the middle class are privileged, sure, but she wasn't rich until she got famous.

you belong with me is a wonderful cute silly melodramatic teen pop song, so i expect to find more of that here, will i be disappointed?

you belong with me is indeed magical (that chorus is just umph), and despite myself i do get down to love story despite its hideous cliches. lyrically you'll find similar stuff so i guess it depends on how much you let yourself enjoy this.
the other songs i enjoy on this are the ones that sound like they could fit in her next album (can't remember which), but i will say that this has a particular teenage charm that none of her later albums capture very well despite her own efforts (*cough* 22 *cough*), but then i unironically enjoy we are never getting back together and adore trouble so what do i know
