Iluvatar, I didn't mind the video for Nice Guys Finish Last. And it might be cliched, but Good Riddance has a nice video.

Wow I was reading back and I think vheissu was actually doing most of the pwning (not all).
anyway this album is nowhere nearly as good as their old stuff but it has some ok songs.
I think I was the one who caused all this arguing (that might have been why I got banned). I promise I'll try to be more understanding and respectful this time around.
and stop saying that green day sold out because every mainstream artist is a sell out. If you wanna be big in the music biz you have to be one because it truly is full of s***. Ofcourse some artists are bigger sell outs than others. For example you are not going to compare jim morrison to someone like snoop doggThis Message Edited On 04.17.06

Im talking about more or less the past twenty years. I don't think anyone form the sixties was a sellout.

I'll say once and I'll say it again, I'm sick of this album!

I'm sick of hearing assholes rant on how terrible this album is when they have no idea what their talking about. I can handle people who can give me a valid point why they hate it, but I hate noobs who join merely to say this sucks.

That's because the term was yet to be coined, which was also due to the fact that rock wasn't seen to be a marketable genre within the industry until the early 1970s.
Despite this, most of the artists of the 1960s could be considered "sellouts" by today's standards.

I wasn't trying to start a fight. I was calling you on a bullshit statement.
It's obvious that you have fallen into the trap of over-glorifying the past. I got news for you: there was mainstream garbage back in the 60's, too. It just got forgotten because it sucked. There probably were also a few artists back then who sold out for their fifteen minutes of fame, but even in the modern world, they're few and far between.
Also, it's equally obvious you don't actually know how to properly use the term sell-out. I suggest you read the muse of the subject. It should be easy to spot. Until then, shut up.
That's because the term was yet to be coined
Actually, it was coined back in the 30's when jazz became exceptionally popular. A lot of people who'd been in the swing scene for years got their panties in a twist over the fact that now rich white kids were listening to their music, and accused any jazz artist who played to that crowd of selling out their integrity and credibility. This Message Edited On 04.17.06

Green Day's worst album to date, this just sucks, I really like Are We the Waiting and Give Me Novacaine, but everything else can just suck a fat one.

anyway, as for green day, i liked them before american idiot, but then they took a turn for the worst IMO. they probably have 100 dollar bills on their toilet paper rolls, and all of that is a direct result of people who follow trends and got into AI because their friends did. I liked it for a while, but thankfully i am out of that phase, this album makes me sick.
So... you dislike them for being popular, or rich, or... what? I'm not quite sure I know where you were going this...
I dont like this album because everything kind of blends in for me, and I cant stand BJA's vocals anymore. And Dirnt severely dissapointed here.
Have you given The Network a shot? This Message Edited On 04.17.06
