I like this album and I enjoy a few of the songs though I just can't connect with this as much as what I did with their earlier work. It still don't really get the TOYPAJ haters. I thought that while some songs could have been improved I overall thought that is was a step up from EOTS. I do get a bit annoyed by people who like this album but that hate every other release but won't even try and just listen and be open about the fact that blink-182's roots were entirely different to this album in general. This album taking up a experimental/electronic alternative rock sound instead of their traditional fast, pop-punk sound with some immature themes. People say blink-182 is immature but has anyone here ever listened to The Bloodhound Gang? I couldn't think of anything more immature then that. I mean a whole song name derived from a swear word and talking about having sex, come on, blink-182's original stuff was much more than just immature themes. Good review but unfortunately I just prefer their earlier albums and hopefully their newer album will go back a little back to their earlier roots. I couldn't really stand much more change to blink-182 then this.

I'd 5 this if Feeling This didn't exist on this record. In fact, it isn't even that Feeling This is on the record, what prevents me from 5ing this is that Feeling This is the album opener.

The way I see it, Feeling This is the only "fun" song on the album and it would totally kill the mood if it was placed at the end or even in the middle of the album with so many "sadder" songs coming right before it.

gonna get theoretical on all y'all asses, but Feeling This is the perfect opener because it acknowledges Blink-182s juvenile past with its presumably simple style while simultaneously revealing the artifice behind that style with its lyrical themes. Sex is no longer a joke but a serious, terrifying, passionate act, and all its weight is thrown together in a rowdy pop song. The rest of the album expands from this into humanity and sadness, but Feeling This had to be the opener to demonstrate the change in the band is a growth and not a sudden metamorphosis

That's cool, and I see where you're coming from with this, but I still don't care much for it. Album is still amazing.

i think stockholm syndrome is probably one of blinks best songs and (if you can even call it pop-punk) is one of the best pop-punk songs imo

^^^ agreed, Stockholm syndrome is a definite favorite. Cranked it on the way to work this morning, forced that hangover away. my ears hurt, but it was beautiful.

Unlike Tom, Mark's singing doesn't make me want to nail my eardrums in
|

When I was younger, I always thought it was Tom who had Mark's voice and Travis who had Tom's voice and then Mark was the drummer haha
