If the material was weak, then their style of repeating things would get stale. But I don't think there is a single section that I'm not ok with hearing for a long period of time, maybe that's why this doesn't get stale for me.

Well it's definitely like it bores the hell out of me. If that was the case I wouldn't even bother with it, but there's some points where it feels like it drags.

This is one of those bands that make music that I want to last forever anyway.

Bumped up because I can't find any excuse to keep it below a 5 any longer. I bumped Ashes down to a 4.5 though.

I used to think that this was easily Agalloch's weakest album, but after many, many, many listens I realized that I was totally wrong.

I don't have a local record store. The closest I have is Best Buy. I'm listening to black metal all night. I might get around to it. Wolves in the Throne Room for the first time currently.

pale folklore runs a fine line of brilliance and absolute shit that gets rather tedious when you're like oh man this part sucks so bad but i just have to wait a couple more minutes until the second coming of jesus. still don't know if it's worth it all.

Well it's definitely worth your time. It's the best this band has to offer IMO.

that would be great except that Agalloch never play the states and when they do it's some shithole in
the midwest, not anywhere worth a damn.

Those moments when it's like the second coming of jesus are worth waiting through the more drawn-out portions 100 times over
