No Heroes is far from their best, but it's also far from filth
if the production hadn't been so thin and trebly I'd probably put it on par with Axe to Fall, and close to this. Love the songwriting on No Heroes.
I agree. Also I think the album would've been better if it had had less tracks. All the hardcore-y songs towards the end are great on their own but together they get a bit grating. Ending the album on Trophy Scars would've been perfect

I think the musicianship is pretty much consistent over their career. It's always been Kurt Ballou doing his own thing on the guitar anyway

Yeah I feel myself coming onto a Converge binge right now. I used to dislike No Heroes but I just listened to it and bumped my rating from a 2.5 to a 3.5.
