Ceremony is excellent but S tier seems a bit much for me personally. It just isn't as dynamic as the best stuff here. surprised that mathematics isn't even in A-tier for you tho man damn. i think error will be an overlooked song

"surprised that mathematics isn't even in A-tier f"

S tier is Ceremony through Pompeji lol. Ceremony is poppy fucking goodness. Lyrically, I think it's the strongest here cuz the Cheng echo's, and Beware being a top 3 tones song for me, whenever he fucking draws out words in the choruses I fuckn nut

curious to those who rate genesis lower than the rest: what knocks it down a peg or two for you?

I played the heck out of it a week ago but it’s still one of my favorites

it feels more like a set up for greater things to come rather than being great itself, kind of like Image of the Invisible opening Vheissu

genesis i just don't think is nearly as strong as the rest. the chorus i find very weak, but i do love that opening minute of it and the verses are great too. it's the "climbing out from the ashes" bit that makes me bored.

fair enough. I felt the same when DE came out, the screams didn’t win me over like they used to.

it just doesn't do it for me anymore. TLID and Radiant City were kind of grating at first, but after consecutive listens, it riffs too fucking hard to not mind the screams

Well I'm referring to live performance not album performance, unless that is wrong too? lol I watched a 1998 concert somewhere in Europe yesterday of them that was like 80 minutes
