Stylistic game changer, monolithic drumming clinic. Lyric context was a bit all over the place (but that’s not the main pull).

I’ve just realised I haven’t spent a lot of time re-rating all those EP’s since the last time I cleared my rating. Be right back.

Barbiepop. I do remember having it in a high 3.5-4 range in my earlier days as a contributor. It will be good to do a re-run of some of these and see where they line up in a more modern standard.

I think its a EP i dunno, i checked the band on Spotify and saw that as their first release or close to it and listened to it at work and I was blown away. Maybe im silly because i dont know anything else, a little from the destroy album but I find myself listening to None alot when im frustrated and it makes me feel good!

I’ve always been more of a fan of the later day Shuggah, with the April release a likely outlier. My Obzen rating mostly stems from the Bleed track and a couple of others (and in case a select some of you didn’t guess), the album as a whole didn’t blow me away.

That said EPs like None were distinctly fresh in and out of the genre (which earmarks most of the heavy djent movement of today really) and I scored them higher because of that.

never get that excited by a meshuggah album cuz i have a rough idea of what to expect each time. doesn't mean i won't end up jammin it during workouts for the ultimate polyrhythmic lifting session

fair enoughhh. I will say this new one is them doing what they do best, but I definitely think it's a step up from this, and Jens sounds insane

Id say Ivory tower but there is a growing movement of shug fans that dislike that song
