I’ve seen a lot of comments claiming THIS album is what turned a lot of formerly disinterested people onto this band. I have no idea why that would be the case. It’s not as heavy as Fire. It’s not as bone-chilling as Destroyers. It’s a sonic wall of stale bread.

Some people prefer a slice of melody here and there. I've only checked Shrines from these guys, but I like this one better and I think that's the reason why.

Diet Shrines would be a good way to describe this. It’s like they took the gravel-grinding teeth out of that album, tossed in some gratuitous melodramatic riffs, and slapped their label on it.
