"What Happened To You, and Rubicon are all among their very best"
No.

I thought I was the only one who didn't like Rubicon.
I do think WHTY is beautiful tho, however I can see the point in them not having a huge closer song, like Cosby said, I don't think that's what they're aiming for anyhow.

the only one that bothers me is Annyversary not being the closer to their selft titled

@Valkoor Rubicon is a good song but gets boring really fast once you realize it's basically a rip off of Hexagram (it even has the same line about crowd) but less agressive and more repetitive and drawn-out. All flaws aside the outro of this song is amazing.
I can see why someone would think of W2HY as a beautiful song, cause it is one but the problem is it's so "by the numbers", doesn't bring anything new and is very predictable, whereas whole Koi No Yokan had an amazing and experimental atmosphere it just feels very out of place. Personally I'd just go with Goon Squad as the closer and the album would work out better

Pink Maggit easily their best closer imo
What Happened to You is great, probably third. I really like Rubicon as well. Not a huge fan of Moana, and This Place is Death is decent.

@iglu I think it works well as it is. In my opinion it would be a let down if an album with such dark atmosphere and heavy moments would end with a quiet song like this.
I love Moana and think it's a nice closer and has a very sad vibe to me wich makes sense as a closer for an album like this, but I'd go with Bloody Cape as a final track. It feels like a closer to me cause of the way the bridge and the outro sound

Bloody Cape most crushing riff of all time

There's really no competition for Pink Maggit and probably will never be
Yeah the riffs and the outro for Bloody Cape are so disgustingly great

ST being the heaviest and ending with such a beautiful slow song woul've been a great closer, I feel that's when the album ends, don't care much for Moana
that TRL performance of Bloody Cape is one of my favorite things in life.

Yeah I can see that
Though I think Moana is one of their most underrated songs, it isn't as epic or flashy as their best tracks but has something going for it. It's very sinister and mysterious imo

MX, Pink Maggit, and Riviere are their only satisfying closers imo (and happen to appear on their three best albums)
the others are either kind of weak songs in general or just don't really fit as closers

Best Openers IMO:

Swerve City
Hole in the Earth
Hexagram
Mini Maggit (If you count it)
Feiticeira
Diamond Eyes
Prayers/ Triangles
Bored
Honestly, all their openers are great though.

Yeah they're all amazing.
1. Feiticeira
2. Hole in the Earth
3. Diamond Eyes
4. Hexagram
5. My Own Summer
6. Swerve City
7. Prayers/ Triangles
8. Bored
My Own Summer is a little overrated though imo. It has a cool riff and atmosphere but there's a shit ton of better songs, even on Around the Fur alone
