Still vastly overrated. Nothing to hear here.

I think what I really like on this album are the almost doom-like tones they use. It's what sets the feel for the entire album, and makes it almost come off as 'depressing' even though there's a lot of aggression still.

I think Metallica are honestly kind of overrated in general, but I really like this and Ride the Lightning.

I made an experiment today: listened to an original cassette through my bass amp to hear some bass and oh my... the result wasn't any good, haha! Poor butchered bass...

Yeah they did. I feel really bad for him too. And his millions of dollars he made.

well pik, there are only 3 or arguably 4 Metallica albums the rest are a mess

I generally love band that branch out and do different things, but this is one band that should have stayed the course becasue they are not great musicians and attempts to change went way off base

Saying James Hetfield isn't a great musician is objectively wrong

One could make a solid argument that Hetfield is the greatest metal riff and songwriter of all time. At a minimum, he's right there in the very very small group of guys like Iommi, Schuldiner, Mustaine, etc.

Yeah, Hetfield is really really good. You could populate a "10 greatest riffs" list with just his stuff.

LOL. If I should name 10 of the most catchiest riffs I ever heard, none of them would be from him.

My favorite Metallica album.

Funny to see some guys saying they don't deserve being so big. 4 perfect albums and 3 great more albums is not enough ^_ ^

It would be enough, if your numbers were actually correct tbh

First 4 albums are perfect (or almost) even if trash is not for you. Black, Load and Reload are great altrock albums.
