In my opinion Alaska saw a significant step up in quality for them.

the production on alaska sucked, and it was less coherent than the silent circus, and the metal parts on tsc were much better. again im a fanboy for the band and i still enjoy quite a few songs on alaska a lot, but theres some filler that doesnt work, and some songs i just dont like. its like a 3 or 3.5 not bad or anything but nowehere near as good as this or tsc

The only two songs on there that I'd say are filler would be Roboturner and Croakies and Boatshoes. But Alaska and Selkies and Backwards Marathon alone make it better than The Silent Circus.

Croakies is one of the main reasons Alaska is short of this album, such a dull track.
Roboturner is great for the first few minutes, but quickly gets a little boring.

Yes, I have. I think Ad a Dlgmgut is a little overhyped, and Mordecai is amazing of course, but they aren't good enough to make The Silent Circus match Alaska.
