Everyone in the group is obviously a star. Amazing vocals and playing on the strings too. Like the guitars are mind slashing. All the broken harmony and cluster chords. I love how they only play in Drop B when metal bands at large just keep tuning lower and lower.

I guess I'm interested in every part of their process, so it all impresses me a lot. The drums are obviously in their own league. The guitars are technical sure, but their atmospheric and monolithic, huge qualities as well as the balance of melody and dissonance are what really draw me in. Then the vocals and the concepts are super compelling. Fantastic production and art direction too. Really just a stunningly complete band.

this is my second stop on the Ulcerate discog train, taken the time to fully digest it and I think it's gonna stay at a 4. Some truly amazing moments on this thing but I prefer Stare Into Death.
