but yeah i don't get how people who give this a 5 don't realize what there is to hate on this album. it's almost like they understand the album even less than the people who hate it.
i loved volta but cmon there are so many things on frances the mute that would drive some people nuts.
also to clarify, my rating is a 1 on principle so it would prob translate to a 2-2.5.

ire, I agree with you. I lowered it from a 5, to a 4.5 and maybe to a 4 because there are parts to it I just don't enjoy any more, and parts I get sick of. However, they are original, I personally love tommy's vocals, and I have a lot of fun with structure and melodic representation and frantic pace of the album, but i could easily understand a low rating, or someone hating this for just the same reasons I love it. Frances the mute is amazing to clarify but cassandra sucks

This album is close to a 4.5 for me, but it has been one of the most important albums for me in terms of progressing my musical taste, hard to explain to be honest.

I like indulgent noodling and jammy shit, and I love the way they throw shit out on this one, it works better than with what they tried after this album because those were less quirky, less fun, and less melodically interesting. Not every btbam album is a 5 because they play noodly metalcore and throw proficient genre breaks wherever they please, its because they did it in a fun and fresh way that I enjoyed on this one enough to justify my 4.5 rating. I like the bands style, and prolly always will, but even with that said them doing this whole thing is starting to lose its touch, TGM and parallax aren't nearly as fun or melodically interesting as this.

Lunar Wilderness is better than most this album in my opinion, even if it's "more of the same", it's brilliant and not to forget incredibly consistent.
Also, they slay live.

at Darthh, fair enough. for me its not that they ruin good parts, because I like most of what they do and how they do it, I dont like when somethings there that annoys me or that i dont like. That happens a few times on this album, and a lot more on the two they made after this
