Mustaine's vocals always sucked. Everything else in early Megadeth rules through.

His vocals don't bother me at all.

They grew on me. Everything here is just so well-written and awesome that even considering something different from Mustaine's vocals just seems so wrong though.

^ Because his vocals add personality and blend well with the music. It doesn't mean that he is a good singer. And he is neither the first nor the last in the music industry whose bad vocals had a positive impact on his bands music. There are so many similar examples.

I actually prefer the remaster because it enhances the volume and quality of the instrumentals. I can look past the redone vocal-tracks. While I like Dave's vocals for the most part, I don't listen to this band for them. I'm also not hung up on some tired old notion that older is better. With the new production we can actually listen to this album they way it deserves to be listened to.

Also, "Take no Prisoners" and "Rust In Peace... Polaris" were the only songs re-voice-tracked in 2004. The other two; "Five Magics" and "Lucretia" used alternative takes recorded in 1990.

by enhancing you mean compressing the fuck out of it? the drum sound is completely ruined, bass is less punchy and the re-recorded vocals are hilarious
worst remaster ever [666]

the remastered gang vocals in Take No Prisoners are just depressing. Luckily I was able to find an original cd release of this when I got it

Just giving my two cents. I honestly like it. The drum sound is just fine to me, the bass was never that audible to begin with anyway, and the re-recorded vocals aren't as bad as everyone says. It's only two songs and when compared to some of his more recent vocal performances, that shit sounds pretty damn good. The vocals were never that great to begin with.

dude the bass sounds fucking amazing on the original so crisp and omfg and the lil bass solo is so much better on take no prisons on the original fuck you dave you old fuck
i mean i'm guessing you listen to music through shitty pc speakers or something where louder = better but if you got a sweet hifi setup like me you'd know the original sounds 105848549x better, not even kiddin the difference is insane

I have some wicked headphones that really let me here what i'm listening to, it's not strictly a volume thing. I like the remaster, why is this so hard for you to accept? I mean come on, at the end of the day it's the same fuckin thing just slightly different.

I'm not listening to this at full volume or anything, if I did that with these headphones I would probably go deaf. And it's 2013. If you even have a somewhat newer computer the sound cards are great. This isn't 2003 bro.
The original is awesome. The remaster is awesome. Hell, at least we can agree that this album is the hands down the best thrash record ever.

With the new production we can actually listen to this album they way it deserves to be listened to.
So you're saying it deserves to be listened to with significantly inferior production? Damn.
