OK Computer is an absolute monolith of an album/artistic statement that nothing will ever come close to, but at the same time that's basically the way I feel about In Rainbows. It's such a lean album that flows perfectly from start to finish without a single dull moment.

The Bends gets extra points for songs like Street Spirit, Just, Fake Plastic Trees, My Iron Lung and Planet Telex

I also really like Bullet Proof but yeah those are pretty much all the big highlights

I mean if we're talking big artistic statements I'd say Kid A beats Ok Computer in that regard, even though Computer is marginally the better album overall (on a song for song basis).
Also if we're talking Bends highlights I'd add the t/t and (Nice Dream) to that list and probably exclude Just (I love every song on that album to bits though).

Replace Bulletproof with Iron Lung and you've got my top 3.

Kid A was a bold statement at the time but it didn't capture the general interest of the people who were left confused. It divided opinion massively and was seen as some to be a preposterous load of nonsense. You talk to anyone from 2000 who'd grown up with Radiohead and anyone who says they instantly fell in love with it, had their mind blown and it was by far their best album is lying.
OKC redefined the consensus of what was popular at the time and swept up everyone with it, carrying us all to a new era of 'rock'
In Rainbows was a digital age statement and has cemented itself in the bands discog as one of their best (my personal fave)
Nothing comes close to the impact of OKC even now for a first listen it has a certain weight behind it that the other albums can't match.

It was something new but I'm sure some people clicked with it instantly. What'd you think about it upon release?

I thought it was shite. Took about 4yrs to truly appreciate it.
Nobody was prepared for it. OKC was a total revolution and it was followed up by something so obtuse it might as well have been Aphex Twin. In the long run though Kid A is the more revolutionary, ground breaking album.

Agreed, even though OKC had more of an impact.

Agreed with that. OKC was definitely bigger but Kid A more revolutionary.

Kid A is responsible for a lot more current music and has a lot more influence today than okc. It's why (as arsey as it sounds) you have to credit radiohead for being the best at what they do.
OKC in '97 was absolutley unbelievable though. Shook things up overnight whereas kid a took time.

this has nothing to do with its overall quality whatsoever. who gives a fig if the plebs didn't get it straight away

Just to clarify from what I said on the previous page, I meant Kid A, OKC, and IR as my top 3 favorites. This is their fourth best, or The King of Limbs: Live from the Basement.
Much as I love The Bends, there are definitely better songs on there than others. My favorites would be the first two songs, and then the ballads. The rest of it sounds like well-made 90s radio rock. I think I even prefer Amnesiac and HTTT to The Bends overall, but barely.

The Bends is my second least favorite Radiohead album, and I'll always stand by that.
