Anyone listened to the cover album of this? Couple of stellar tracks but mostly horrendous.

not yet but thanks for letting me know its out!
only really interested in a few of the covers tho like the snapcase one

The Snapcase cover was pretty average imo. The only good ones was where the band put their own spin on the song. Stand outs are Cult of Luna - Tannhauser / Derive and Brutus - The Deadly Rhythm.

Not as brilliant as Deep Turtle, if we're talking about transformative 90s Nordic punk. But still pretty good!

Deep Turtle smokes this lol

actually I only like Liberation Frequency on this. Why do I have it rated so high?
|
| |
Lmao who knows
This does bang at points, but is so stuffy and overcooked as a whole - get the appeal as a self-conscious Ideas record, but the energy does not translate

revisited this a few months ago for the first time since high school and yea it was way harder to end to end than i remembered. give me tracks 1 + 3 + 6-10 as an ep

Tracks 8/9 transcend
|
| |
6-10 rly do be the purple patch + that final minute of deadly rhythm. that track feels kinda squashed in sequence, but as a standalone it probably transcends anything else here - so tight

I find that I often skip tracks 8-10 if I'm doing a general abum run. Nothing wrong with them in themselves, but I never thought they added much to the album and maybe even stunted its fiery momentum.
