it doesn’t even have a more mainstream sound than anything he’s done besides TPAB and UU. plus a lot of it like Yah and Pride is pretty weird and different for Kendrick. there’s like 2 songs that kinda just sound like Kendrick trying to make a catchy pop song, but he even did that on GKMC with Poetic Justice

it sounds absolutely nothing like Big Sean just stop

I think it does lol. Album is average af. Bro if this doesn't have a mainstream trap influenced new school hip hop sound to you then idk lol. Sounds like any other mainstream album that's came out the past 10 yrs

it doesn’t if you use your ears

also even GKMC had a “mainstream trap influenced new school hip hop sound” listen to the beat on Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe or all of Drank

DAMN. is the easiest album to return to. TPAB is his best, but this is the one I find myself listening to when I want Kendrick

With Em on this one. Sure it has some left turns but the majority of this album has a super mainstream sound and I could absolutely hear big sean, migos, uzi etc. rapping over quite a few of these beats five years ago
