it's not so much the ambient tracks as the lack of oomph in the other songs. they sort of drift and wander hazily and meh.

Ashes has a beautifully natural sound. It just feels very lively. Don't like it as much as this, but it's got a whole different atmosphere so it's hard to compare anyway.

Does agalloch really need oomph tho? Besides Id argue that Ashes hasmore 'oomph' then this although its a slightly ambiguous term.
