i fucking love this album, but did anyone else notice some slight double bass mess ups? or mb im just hearing incorrectly wtf. go to withered an obsolete, to the part with the huge apocalyptic riff and pay attention to those doubles only please. from 3:56 onwards they sound weird to me, almost like theyre not in succesion or smth for like 2 seconds.
please tell me anyones hearin' what i am, or im goin crazy
btw thats not an attempt to jab at jamie, dudes on another level

what are you saying here?

Yeah, I feel like Jamie is way too methodical a drummer/producer to let an actual mistake make it to record. I they do have really angular parts though. Sounds like he was just switching from 16th notes to eight notes right there on the bass drum to me. I don't think they're mistakes in the kick drum, the music is just meant to be heavily syncopated.

glad someone else is noticing the slight shift cuz it fucks with my brain. and yea he wouldnt let a mistake slip through.
its rly subtle, there are some other parts where i noticed somethin similar, am pretty notorious when it comes to this stuff thou. couldnt get throu a cloudkicker album lately because the pick noise was too fucking nauseous to me and my stupid shitbrain just wouldnt let go

gorguts' obscura made me rethink the entire genre, but EiF is pretty high up there too

Idk, I love obscura prpbably slightly more than this album but there's just something fucking special about the pure celestial fury on this album

The genre breaking shit is always my favorite stuff. Straight up DM is obviously amazing in its own right but something about pushing the boundaries for already boundary breaking music just gets me going. Any Portal fans in the house?
