even if the next one is only a 3.5 (doubt it), theyd still have an insane streak of albums.

Yaaaaar! Got two tickets for The National today and the missus said they could be a belated birthday present. Ended up £90 a pop too - what a woman

Not for The National - last time I saw them they put on the best show I've ever seen. Plus, and I know how sickening this reads, but they are a 'our band' sorta deal so price no object and all that.

Annoying thing is tickets were £40 this morning but I didn't know which date we could make...frustrating.

Dude, no, anyone with a significant other understands this. There are bands that not only are 'your' band but are just a band that you can both agree upon listening to or seeing. The mutual connection is a beautiful thing that doesn't always happen. For every Wild Beasts and National that my girlfriend and I have together, there is a Nick Cave (she fucking hates him) and a Mumford and Sons (yeah, no thanks lol) that we just don't want to hear.

Yeah dbizz, I can't help it, they're just that band we bonded most over.

same, i missed seeing regina spektor because it was £50 for a ticket not including travel to London - big arena shows are ok and all but their cost and the fact that they dont have the personal touch of a smaller venue puts me off

I'm cheap with shows too. I hate paying more than $30 for a ticket. $15-20 is primo.

Cinema tickets are £15 in London now...and I still pay up, and 9 times out of 10 the film isn't all that.

Generally I think £15-£30 on a gig usually works out an absolute bargain
