Agreed with S/T being their darkest, makes for an interesting listen if you do it straight through. SNW had the perfect balance of vibe IMO

The song structure gets so repetitive on this album. I mean they repeat the chorus's so damn much and then the production tries to give them all this HUGE sound too.

I've always been surprised that DE and KNY have higher avgs then SNW, considering how much love SNW gets here.

My only assumption is that a lot of people hated SNW when it first came out

I think diamond eyes (and this to a lesser extent) are a bit overrated. They're great, don't get me wrong. Perhaps its more that I think s/t is underrated, because I've always thought of it as one of their most impressive releases, alongside SNW and White Pony. Even though I enjoy DE a lot, I don't think it's one of their best records. However, a lot of people tend to disagree, so perhaps in time, I'll latch on to it more I guess.

Diamond Eyes just barely beats White Pony for my favorite, which I think might be because of it's accessibility. It's the only album by them I didn't have to listen to 123487123 times to finally start enjoying.

"Diamond Eyes is probably the darkest"

Wait...really? Did we listen to the same album?

s/t sounds like them at their darkest probably. deftones never struck me as a darker band, though.

I don't get much of a dark vibe from Diamond Eyes either.. although You've Seen the Butcher, Beauty School, and Prince could fit that label I suppose

how is that stupid at all

why would you even listen to something that many times if you didn't like it the first handful, at what point do you just admit that you don't enjoy something

I'm already in line. I'm going to buy it, and then right there at the counter I'm going to take it out, tear it up, and eat it. I'll swallow it down with a glass of water.

Then I'll internalize it, do you see? I'll take it inside myself, and synthesize it, and use what I've consumed to make energy and build more parts of me. Do you see?

Only once I've taken the art inside me, once I've placed it deep within me and used it to fill what's lacking inside, only then will I be ready.

Do you see?
