"Apple has more in common w/Guns'N'Roses than it does grunge lmao"

This has always been the case. People think that just because MLB came from Seattle and Wood OD'ed means that they're grunge. That album is straight glam rock

^kinda what i always thought, but can't argue if/that MLB helped spur the grunge era whether directly or indirectly.

MLB definitely has their spot in grunge's history, but it's certainly not at the beginning

Not sure what you guys are arguing about, but I'll say this about Mother Love Bone. Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns is basically the best song ever made.

Spirit, God I love you man, but GNR isn't GLam. It's literally the definition or Hard Rock. Cock Rock, I guess Sweet Child is a glam song but man, there isn't a hair metal band in existence that could have written Nightrain, Its So Easy, Out to Get Me, etc, with a straight face.

Also, side note, Appetite is my favorite album of all time so take anything I say about GNR with a grain of salt. Also, I'm not sober. Also, Think About You is the best song of 1987 after Rocket Queen.

Hans - I actually never said that GNR was glam ;] I definitely think they have some glam-esque tendencies but I agree they are more in line with hard rock.

That's the problem with terms like "glam" and "grunge". They have more to do with fashion statements than music. Early GNR was "glam" as fuck, in image. Same with Mother Love Bone. But they were both, in many ways reactions to the corporate glam bands of their day.
