What a badass name though.

Like really,

Wolves in the Throne Room

honestly though it sounds like some pop punk/emo band name.

I had never heard Wolves but took a flyer on a concert after reading about them on Sputnik. five years later (three days from now), still the best concert I've ever been to.

Marrow's underrated and I enjoy both very much

I don't expect this time to be the same convergence of events though. it was a show in a dark alley of Providence played by firelight under a full moon. the set list was Thuja / Ahrimanic Trance / Rocks and Roots / Prayer of Transformation and it was 70 minutes of...transcendence. just these long flowing stories echoing around the alley like being inducted into some primeval cult. it was so cool. 100% better that it was outside.

I do wish they'd axed A Desolation Song and just ended the thing on the reprise of its opening that closes Great Cold Death. that would have been perfect.
