Ceremony, Error, and the Sound of Mathematics are my favs after a few listens. The bass lines on this album are a wonderful surprise, probably my favorite thing about it.

Apparently the title track was cut down from a ~14 minutes jam. Considering how catchy the guitarwork is I'd be curious to hear more

This album’s quiet consistency definitely wins out over any of the individual cuts. Apart from anything, this has at the very least ignited some interest in this band for me. I’d only heard White Pony before (which I remember enjoying but only ‘to an extent’).

SNW and KNY are their two best, don't miss out on those.

SNW is absolutely one of their best, KNY on the other hand isn't even in their top 5 :p

KNY is amazing, I'd say it's even more consistently quality than SNW, but something about the latter makes me favor it slightly.

Not to mention Beware which is their crowning achievement in heaviness

KNY is more about the atmosphere, emotion, and instrumental layering than riffs.

That’s a totally fair rebuttal but like Beware’s climax isn’t even really about the riff as much as it is the intense atmosphere created by said instrumental layering so idk. Obv potato potato

Diamond Eyes I think is their best in terms of marrying the emotive atmosphere and shoegazing with the alt. metal riffs and heaviness. But when it comes to riffs and metal music, why not just go to the best and listen to thrash and tech death metal.

Everybody in a Deftones thread: "The albums that I like are the best albums. No one else knows what they're talking about unless they agree with me." lmao
