First off, can we acknowledge the fact that grunge isn't REALLY a genre. It was essentially a mishmash of classic rock, punk and metal. But there are fewer similarities between Malfunkshun, Green River and Soundgarden (as the early stars of the scene) than there are between early Metallica, Exodus and Testament, for instance. None of them were, however, less or more important than the others except in gaining mainstream attention for the region's bands.

So, no. Mother Love Bone and Andrew Wood did not single-handedly *pioneer* the "genre" of grunge. He was an important figure, for sure, but not THE pioneer.

Lol Dom! I had to backtrack a bit, but I see why you stated that he has a pretty shaky grasp on how time works. xD

i mean in order for his premise to work we'd have to assign the grunge tag to mother love bone and pearl jam exclusively

"Sitarhero obviously born in the 2000's."

Which means I was born right after Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley died in 1987 and 1881 respectively, but was in college when grunge was invented in the early 17th century.

That's how time works, right Thrust?

"I'm going by what I lived. Before the internet. By experience. Not reading it [...] you can watch Pearl Jam 20 and literally watch Jeff and Stoney talk about exactly what I said. Also, check out Candlebox interviews about Wood."

1. I get that you hate reading. It's painfully obvious.

2a. So your experiences before the internet involve watching a 2011 documentary on Pearl Jam and some Candlebox interviews...on the internet? Fuck, I'm starting to think that you are genuinely confused about how time works and not just trolling.

2b. Are you that guy from the Time Traveler's Wife who keeps randomly time traveling to different times, but for some reason have no idea when any of those times are? What year do you think it is right now?

Today I learned that Grunge began in 1990 with a Mother Love Bone cassette.

I also learned that apparently I lived in apartheid South Africa, fought in both Gulf Wars and survived the Rwandan genocide because I was alive somewhere in the world during that time period and owned a television.

I'm confused, didn't Soundgarden form before Apple came out? And yes grunge is not (really) a genre, the big four of grunge sound absolutely nothing alike.

Point is, Mother Love Bone and the death of Andrew Wood may have popularized the term, but they definitely weren't the first grunge band.

No, I stopped commenting because your idiocy was too much for me to handle. But regardless, this'll be my last post on the thread because the entire conversation is making me ill. Bye
