Back in those bands heydays, the late 2000s this sites community was heavily anti-deathcore cause they were seen at 'scene bands,' for most of the people who've stuck around stuff like all shall perish was a gateway band into the more elitist stuff. But yeah older death metal fans kept a gatekeepy 'no posers!' approach, they'd be great for getting recommendations for niche stuff buuut usually dismiss whatevers 'trendy.' as someone in my thirties I find that sentiment silly, just enjoy what you enjoy lol.

i meaaan, power metal does have some of the best guitarists in metal, it's just them vocals not being evil enough....

Even Chuck's last release under Control Denied kind of falls into the power metal genre. I actually really like the vocals on that one album.
