Too hard to rank, but Serpent is easily the worst and Marrow was my biggest grower. Also Faustian Echoes = Serpent, the White EP = best EP, and Of Stone, Wind, and Pillor is one of the best songs they've ever written.

I'm pretty sure I think Serpent is top 2 or 3 and was mindblown at the negative reception it receives, but I really haven't listened to this band in several years so I'll get back to you.

Serpent is cool m/

It's a good album, I'd be stoked if I wrote it, but we're also comparing it to albums like every other Agalloch album. I listen to it sometimes.

Mantle > Ashes > Folklore > Marrow > Serpent, but the White EP > Marrow & Serpent
Agreed 100%.

Also agreed with that.

I had to read through the ranking 5 times to understand it. I was having a dense moment. It's clearly a LP rating, with the caveat that the White EP is also better than Marrow and Serpent.
Their first 4 LPs are all legitimate choices, I just don't agree with the notion that Marrow is somehow inferior. I think it's down to personal preference and some fans simply didn't like the change in direction.

It’s not inferior by any means. The first 3 are stone cold classics though.

Sorry Demon, I just wanted to show my love for the White EP.

Totally agree with that, Marrow is still a strong 4 in my book.

I love Marrow, it's 8.5/10 as you can see from my rating. I just love the first three and The White a little more. One of the best bands ever.

I miss them on a monthly basis, but at least they left us this amazing legacy.

Almost THE album for me. Black Lake goes on a BIT too long, dropping this from 'the best' to #2 behind Ashes

At least you have the top 2 correct, even if I just about prefer this.

The melotron on Black Lake is the best thing on this album.

This didn't click with me as much as The Mantle, Pale Folklore and Ashes. But it has been while since I last listened to this. Perhaps I need to revisit this.

I honestly like this album better than Pale Folklore. It's not as good as The Mantle or Ashes but it is special. It has a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and some of their best songs.
