The drums are super high in the mix with a funny effect on them. It's just different.

When it comes to Joy Division I find that all you really need are this and Closer then Substance to get all their singles etc.

Substance is pretty cool because it has some more "fun" songs, It's a good contrast to the apocalypse of Closer haha

Am I the only one who hears Disorder's lyrics to be about a guy who feels ashamed of being gay?

Talking about waiting for a guy to take him by the hand, pleasures of another man.... its getting out of hand, getting frequent now. Got the spirit, lose the feeling and let it out somehow, who gives a damn right now?

the original meaning of the song is ruined for me

When I go to read an album review, I generally don't want to read 4 or 5 paragraphs on a band's history and some irrelevant shit about other albums that could have been said in a single sentence.

both versions are amazing, different vibes

i just jam whichever one fits the mood best

jf version is a bit less soul destroying

maybe that's just cos he says he pulls his pants up high because of ian curtis haha
