This is such a rollercoaster, crossover to the core.

I found a Requiem shirt of all things at Hot Topic a couple months back. scored it for seven bucks, which pretty much answered my question of "how the hell did this get here?" for me.

the thing I don't understand is that they also own Boxlunch. what's stopping them from shoveling all the pop culture slop over there?

the bjork reference was wildly unexpected. i need a couple more spins on this before i can rate it properly however the entire album is a really fun crazy ride.

I don't get the fuss about this tbh. State Faults was more immediate for me for sure. I don't think this will get me as hooked.

I haven’t decided whether this will plateau once the novelty wears off (likely) but it’s impressive how they collate such a disparate pastiche of “kitsch” into something listenable

so I’m in agreement with nash that it definitely is kitschy, I mean they threw a whole kitschen sink of retro curveballs into this, but it’s presented in such a knowing way that it comes across as amusing and playful (rather than an outdated retread)
