The Beatles actually created metalcore because they are the creators of rock n roll

"OH like moths to a flame they are still a band that exists"
Yeah and they've gotten significantly better over time, their new album is some of the best in core this year imo.

"Spiritbox might seem "generic," but calling them that is a bit off. They really helped shape this sound a couple of years back, so while you could label them as generic, it doesn't quite capture their role as pioneers in the scene."
Uhh, but their sound is a derivative from other former sounds. Its like youre saying they shaped acoustic music. Makes zero sense unless its a young impressionable kid reading who thinks youre saying something with substance because they dont know any better.

Had to bump this up to a 4.5, legit a top 5 metal record of the year for me, will probably wind up in my top 10 overall.
Friend loaned me his 8 string, already managed to play they’re all around us on my guitar, I have to imagine the rest of it will sound a lot better with this big boy. Fun as hell to play

I've been looking for an 8 for ages but I can never find one I like that isn't crazy expensive. I'm so jealous

Honestly man budget ones can go for like $200-400, I just never really played enough songs that needed it to justify buying one. Gotta admit I’m stoked to try it out tho

Which one did you borrow? And yeah I know I can get a shitty one for 400 but why would I want to. I've been hunting a Stephen Carpenter ESP but no luck so far. Some other ones too

Esp LTD I think is what it’s called. I’m not sure what the model is. I wanna say he said he spent like $700 on it. I’m not gonna get to play it until tomorrow but I’m very excited to give it a shot

Closer is nice. Reminds me of grimes a bit.

What the fuck happened to this thread? Everyone in here arguing whose favorite pop metal genericore band/vocalist is actually the best most innovative genre defining one. Spiritbox has devolved into pop metal. This album has a ton of pop metal. Nothing groundbreaking coming from either of these two, but it's fine. Just enjoy it.
That being said bumping this to a 4, and then probably a 4.5. I have spun this way too many times for it to be at 3.5.
