I saw them tonight and was blown away. Their live shows really are a separate experience on their own.

If someone opts out of a chance to see them live because they dislike their later output then they don't understand what this band is

Saw them live back in November, it didn't matter that they mostly played new pieces it was incredible from start to finish even though I was less familiar with the material. Not a wasted note in a 2 hour set

Went to their gig this March and I'm still under the influence. Phenomenal band, I'd check them live even if they only played cover versions of traditional christmas songs.

when I saw them it was Hope Drone, First of the Last Glaciers, Bosses Hang, Cliffs Gaze, Monheim, BBF3, and String Loop Manufactured During Downpour. Really enjoyed it, but man, it's confusing when they're just playing pieces of songs I know from mostly full-album listems.

Yeah there was a section of East Hastings thrown in there but not the whole thing. Why not play the whole thing??

Well, maybe you should give it another chance. I wasn’t super-enthusiastic about this, but after hearing these songs live, everything clicked. I don’t think there’s a bad moment on the album, it flows perfectly.

well yeah i'm sure seeing it live would shift your perspective lol. i will someday as they are one of my all time favorites but like most of their revival stuff i just think it's pretty good but not anywhere near as innovative as they were.

Yeah, looking for innovation might be the key here. I arrived late to the game, Allelujah… being the first album of theirs that I heard. And while going back in their discog to discover their early stuff was very rewarding, by 2016 or so their first two albums and the Slow Riot EP didn’t sound radically new, just very-very good. Thus I still find it satisfying to hear a similar sound, with some twists here and there, and this is what I got here.
